Hi,

Happy to have you here. Writing an About Page for a new venture is as hard as asking a mom to describe the personality of a newborn baby. While I don’t know what AFEFA is, I do know what I hope it becomes and this is what I will talk about here. I however hope that this page becomes a living account of the brand’s evolution updated perhaps every twelve months.

AFEFA is a meeting place for lovers of Africa and Gifting. A premium gifting service in Kigali, AFEFA carries exclusively Made in Africa products curated for those who want to gift intentionally and with care. It showcases the best of the continent bridging the distance between families, lovers and friends through thoughtfully curated gifts.

AFEFA is an ode to a continent’s quiet language of gift exchanges that has evolved from a practice that secured alliances and protection to symbols of respect, hospitality, interconnectedness, goodwill but most importantly the sharing of culture.

For the team at AFEFA, this is a culmination of years of recontextualizing Africa as a continent of makers and trendsetters as an alternative to the stereotype of passive consumers. Through this platform, we service intentional givers who want to connect to and celebrate their loved ones through sharing African culture and craftsmanship.

For African artisans and brands, AFEFA is an opportunity for their products to be vessels for celebration, sharing joy, strengthening bonds and making memories around the world.

At AFEFA, you will find carefully curated sustainable, eco-friendly and culturally relevant brands from Rwanda, Ghana, Kenya and South Africa with a promise to keep finding gems from every single corner of this beautiful continent so that every gift conveys the exact feeling you want it to.

xoxo
Cynthia
